Donations Accepted for Operation Isaiah
September 3 – October 8
Each Yom Kippur, it has become a Beth El Synagogue tradition to heed Isaiah’s message to feed the hungry:
This is my chosen fast…
Share your bread with the hungry.
Take the homeless into your home.
Clothe the naked when you see him,
Do not turn away from people in need.
Again this year, we will be collecting non-perishable food and gently-used clothing to be distributed to the needy during the entire month of Elul. Bins will be in the community court up to and including the evening of Kol Nidre services on Tuesday, October 8.
This year, we will donate the food we collect to Table Grace. Their donation wish list includes: flax seed meal, whole wheat flour, olive oil, canola oil, olives, quinoa, chickpea flour, dried cranberries, sunflower seeds shelled, pecans, apple cider vinegar, balsamic vinegar, white vinegar, tea, dijon mustard, ketchup, mayonnaise, ranch dressing, honey, maple syrup, brown sugar, white sugar, coffee creamer, powdered sugar, coconut oil, spices, salt and dried herbs.
